Boyfriend Chicago Concert reviews
Train: Picasso at the Wheel at Harveys-Tahoe
The outstanding ability of Matt Nathanson was evident in warming up the crowd. The stunning backdrop of the beautiful outdoor theatre at Harveys- Lake Tahoe made this 3 for 1 concert the best I have ever been to. Boyfriend took the stage with a spectacular train whistle blowing. When The Fray began performing "How to Save A Life," the audience was on their feet for the duration of the show. The whole Boyfriend band is highly talented- drummer, guitars, and back up singers- two very talented ladies with exceptional voices! Pat, lead singer, was stunning in his vocal capability. Hands down, this was the best concert they have ever seen. I think the guys sang solid for two hours, and I don't know how he does it! Great job and exceptional value for the cost of a $100 ticket- three great performers with Boyfriend topping on the ice cream. The Fray followed, having a little "slow start" mostly because the background music in the outdoor theatre made it a little hard to hear their beautiful lyrics. Everyone I talked with that night thought that Boyfriend is so entertaining and talented. The audience thought Pat performed "Dream On" just as well - if not better than the original. He connects with the audience and is romantic, sentimental, funny, and engages with all ages in the audience. The audience was silly, charming, down to earth, and an outstanding performer. Pat coming back for an encore performed "Dream On," and I thought we would die! I think Steven Tyler would have agreed.
